UAB Softball’s Tuesday Game Against Samford Canceled

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB softball team has canceled its home contest against Samford scheduled for Tuesday night due to inclement weather in the area.
The Blazers will host a pair of top 15 teams this weekend for the Blazer Classic with No. 11 Louisiana, No. 14 Oklahoma State and Ole Miss coming to town. The tournament opens Friday with Oklahoma State taking on Ole Miss at 10 a.m. followed by Oklahoma State against Louisiana. The Blazers first home action of the season will come Friday afternoon against Ole Miss at 3 p.m. and again at 5:30 p.m. against No. 11 Louisiana.
Saturday's schedule for the Blazer Classic opens with Louisiana and Oklahoma State at 10 a.m. followed by Louisiana and Ole Miss at 12:30 p.m. UAB will face No. 14 Oklahoma State at 3 p.m. and Ole Miss again at 5:30 p.m.
The Blazer Classic concludes Sunday with Ole Miss facing off against Louisiana at 11 a.m.
All-day tickets for the Blazer Classic running from Feb. 21-23 are available at $10 per adult and $6 per youth ticket. Premium seats can be purchased at $15 for adults, $10 for youth and $5 for existing Gold Card members.
UAB (8-3) is off to its best start to the season since 2002. The Blazers have garnered back-to-back C-USA honors with sophomore catcher Sierra Frazier winning Player of the Week on Feb. 10 and junior pitcher Amy Woodham winning Co-Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 17.
