UAB Women's Tennis Signs Winthrop Transfer Alexandra Ferreira da Silva

BIRMINGHAM - UAB women's tennis head coach Mark Tjia has announced the signing of Alexandra Ferreira da Silva. The sophomore Comes to UAB after transferring from Winthrop which discontinued their tennis program this past June.
Ferreira da Silva played #1 doubles and #4 singles with the Eagles. After victories over opponents from James Madison and Virginia Tech, she was named Big South Freshman of the Week on Feb. 5.
The Blazers open the 2021 Spring season on Jan. 23 at Alabama.
