UAB Defeats Arkansas State 4-0 in Home Opener

BIRMINGHAM - It took just 1:44 for UAB to defeat Arkansas State in the Blazers' home opener at George Ward Park on Sunday afternoon.
The Blazers (2-2) took the doubles point with Dominika Hrabalova and Adela Wasserbauerova making quick work of ASU's Shelby King and Berta Masdevall-Masi 6-0 and Megan Bertrands and Alexia Witthaus defeating Pornpawe Pramethong and Eliza Babos 6-2.
In singles, Hrabalova coasted to a 6-0, 6-0 win over Babos at #6. Wasserbauerova defeated King 6-2, 6-2 at #2 and Bertrands clinched the match at #5 with a 6-1, 6-1 win against Amelia Guevremont.
The next four matches are on the road for UAB beginning with South Alabama on Feb. 1 and Tulane Feb. 2. The Blazers return home on Feb 22 against Murray State at noon.
