BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's soccer team returns home to BBVA field on Thursday night when they host Alabama State. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
THE SERIES
Although the teams are approximately 90 miles away, Thursday's match will mark the first time the Blazers and the Hornets have met on the pitch.
UAB LATELY
The Blazers (0-2-2) are coming off a 1-1 tie against Troy on Sunday night. Sha'Nya Stephens scored her first career goal with 15 seconds remaining in the first half make the match level. Eve Beyer made her first start in net, turning away five Troy shots. In total, UAB had 36 shots, 15 on target.
ALABAMA STATE LATELY
The Hornets (1-2-0) defeated Faulkner 5-0 on Tuesday. Isabella Beortegui scored twice for the Hornets and Hrafnhildur Hjaltalin recorded her first career shutout.

UAB hosts Georgia State on Sunday evening at 6 p.m. The Panthers (2-2-0) play at Chattanooga on Friday night before they come to Birmingham.
