BIRMINGHAM – Five different Blazers found the back of the net as UAB (1-2-2) recorded its first victory of the season after a 5-0 shutout of Alabama State (1-3-0) on Thursday night.

Eve Beyer recorded her first career victory for UAB.

Regan Kommor got the Blazers on the board in the 14^th minute when she blasted a shot from the top of the arc past ASU keeper Hrafnhild Hjaltalin. UAB kept the momentum going, less than three minutes later Stella Kiss set up Megan Hudgens for a one timer on the right side that put the Blazers ahead 2-0.

Kiss lengthened the UAB lead at 3-0 in the 29^th minute when she buried Sha'Nya Stephens' rebound behind Hjaltalin.

In the 56^th minute, Morgan Halliwill subbed in and promptly scored 18 seconds later. She took the ball two steps inside the box and chipped the ball into the left corner of the net.

The final tally came in the 87^th minute when Lexxe Lipsey connected with Stephens in the middle of the box.

"This was a nice win for us tonight," said head coach Erica Demers. "We got some nice goals and the opportunities we created to get the goals were really good. We've been working on these things in training, so it great when you can see these plays executed in the game itself."

UAB will stay in Birmingham this week and will face Georgia State on Sunday evening at 6 p.m.
