Women’s Golf Tied for Third at Pirate Collegiate Classic

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Sophomore Chiara Vikkula is in second place and one shot off the lead for the UAB women's golf team after the first two rounds of the Pirate Collegiate Classic hosted by East Carolina University.
Chiara shot -2, which included a second round 69. The Blazers are tied for third overall at +22 and are nine shots off the lead which is currently held by ECU at +13.
Following Vikkula, Shelly Chen (who played as an individual) and Caroline Waldrop are both tied for 10th at +6, while reigning C-USA Golfer of the Week Tia Teiniketo is one shot behind at +7. Teiniketo shot even par in the second round and moved up 20 spots into a tie for 14th.
Rounding out the UAB efforts was Kenna Hughes and Stephenie Fowler who are in 31st and 43rd place, respectively.
