BIRMINGHAM - The UAB men's golf team will host the Graeme McDowell Invitational this Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 23-24, at Greystone Golf & Country Club.
The 19-team field will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. The course will play Par 72, 7,293 yards.
This week's field consists of: Arkansas State, Chattanooga, High Point, Jacksonville State, Lipscomb, Louisiana, Memphis, Nicholls State, No. 19 North Florida, Samford, No. 17 South Carolina, Southern Illinois, Southern Miss, Troy, UAB, ULM, Winthrop, WKU and Wofford.
"We are excited to host at one of the top golf courses in the southeast," said head coach Mike Wilson. "It is a tremendous field which includes two top 25 teams and our guys will be ready to play well on our home course."
The Blazers are coming off a fourth-place finish at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate last week in their first tournament of the season. Senior Murray Naysmith finished fifth overall in Louisiana and carded a five-under 67 in the final round.
Naysmith will be joined in the lineup by fellow senior William Walker III, redshirt junior Ben Reichert, redshirt sophomore John Snoddy and true freshman Khavish Varadan. Additionally, Ethan Hagood and Alfie Fox will play as individuals.
Monday's action begins at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start, while Tuesday begins at 8 a.m. with tee times off holes 1 and 10.
The event is free and open to the public. If fans cannot make it to Greystone, live results can be found by clicking here. Updates are also available by following @UAB_MGOLF on Twitter and Instagram.
