UAB Wraps Up Nonconference schedule at Georgia Southern

BIRMINGHAM – After a week off, the UAB women's soccer team hits the road to face Georgia Southern on Sunday at noon.
THE SERIES
This is the first matchup between UAB and GS in 15 years, 11 months and 30 days (9/15/03) - the Blazers defeated the Eagles 2-1 in overtime.
UAB LATELY
The Blazers (1-2-3) are coming off a scoreless tie against Georgia State last Sunday. UAB is coming off back-to-back shutouts and has not allowed a goal in 299 minutes.
GEORGIA SOUTHERN LATELY
Friday's match at Georgia was called in the 51st minute due to inclement weather. Prior to the match in Athens, GS fell to Davidson 1-0 on Sept. 8. The Eagles have won both of its home matches this season, defeating The Citadel and Presbyterian.
CAN'T GET THE BALL BEYER
Eve Beyer leads Conference USA with a 0.29 goals against average. The freshman has recorded back-to-back shutouts and has only allowed one goal all season.
UP NEXT
Conference USA play begins Sept. 22 when the Blazers travel to Louisiana Tech. The next home match will be Sept. 29 against FAU.
