UAB Women’s Soccer Hosts TCU at BBVA Field on Sunday

BIRMINGHAM - UAB's women's soccer team christen newly renovated BBVA Field when they host TCU on Sunday at 1 p.m.
THE SERIES
Sunday's match marks the first time the teams have met since the 2004 season. The Blazers lead the all-time series 4-0-0 including two meetings in Birmingham.
UAB LATELY
The Blazers are coming off a 0-0 tie at Samford on Thursday. Keeper Johanna Popp faced 24 shots and made 10 saves in her collegiate debut. Lizzie Hill, Asha Zuniga, Megan Hudgens, Riley Parsons and Stella Kiss each had two shots in match. Kiss' final shot almost ended the contest with 36 seconds remaining in the second overtime period, but it rung off the crossbar.
TCU LATELY
TCU fell to No. 1 Florida State on Thursday. Horned Frogs' keeper Emily Alvarado saw 21 Seminole shots, turning back four. Yazmeen Ryan was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Award watch list. Ryan, along with Messiah Bright were named to preseason All-Big 12. Bright is the reigning Big 12 Freshman of the Year.
UP NEXT
UAB will make the 250 mile trek south to Mobile when they face South Alabama (Aug. 30) and Troy (Sept. 1) in the Jaguar Classic.
