BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's golf team concluded the first round of the Shoal Creek Invitational and was midway through the second until play was suspended due to darkness on Monday at Shoal Creek Country Club.

The Blazers were in 10th after the first round, but were making a move up the leaderboard until play was suspended. After a +13 in the first round, UAB was -6 in the second round and will pick up on Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. with its five players on holes 6-8.

Not every team was able to finish the first round, so UAB's second round scores are not currently reflected on golfstat.com live scoring.

Murray Naysmith led the Blazers in the first round by shooting even par 72 and was followed by John Snoody who shot a two-over 74. Nick Robillard was +5 on the opening 18, and William Walker III was +6, but those two are a major reason why UAB is moving up in the second round as Robillard is -1 through six, and Walker III is -4 through five and birdied his final four holes of play before darkness set in.
