UAB Signs Wasserbauerova and Witthaus

BIRMINGHAM – UAB women's tennis head coach Mark Tjia has announced the additions of Adela Wasserbauerova (Hlinsko, Czech Republic) and Alexia Witthaus (Madrid, Spain) to the Blazers.
Wasserbauerova is currently the 90thranked player in the Czech Republic. Trainer by her father, Tomas, since she began playing as a youth, Wasserbauerova is currently studying marketing management and logistics of transport at University of Pardubice.
Witthaus is currently the 95thranked player in Spain, with an UTR of 9.4. Recently, she was the runner-up at the U18 Madrid Tennis Championship and has reached a pair of quarterfinal and one semifinal berth in major national junior tournaments. Witthaus has recorded wins over 11 different players ranked in the top 100.
