UAB Prepares for CBI

BIRMINGHAM – UAB (20-14) travels to Providence, R.I. to face Brown (19-11) in the First Round of the Roman College Basketball Invitational. Tipoff is at 6 p.m. (CST) on Wednesday night. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
THE SERIES
This is the first meeting between the two teams and first for the Blazers against an Ivy League school since 2002.
UAB AGAINST THE IVY LEAGUE
This marks the fourth time UAB has faced a team from Ivy League. The Blazers are 1-0 against Columbia and 0-2 versus Princeton.
UAB LATELY
Keep an eye on Jeremiah Bell and Bryant - both are closing in on 1,000 career points. Bell, who scored 703 points in his two seasons at Milwaukee, needs 27 points to reach the mark. Bryant needs 61 points for 1k.

The winner of this contest will face the winner of Cal Baptist/Loyola Marymount on March 25th. Location TBD.
ABOUT THE CBI
The 16-team CBI is a single-elimination tournament up until the best-of-three Finals, with all games played at campus sites. After the First Round games, the Quarterfinal Round will take place on Monday, March 25, followed by the Semifinal Round on Wednesday, March 27 or Thursday, March 28. Prior to the semifinals, the remaining teams will be re-bracketed. The Finals series is a best-of-three in which one team will host two of the three games. Those games will be played on April 1, April 3, and April 5.
ESPN is again the official television home of the CBI. ESPNU will televise each game of the best-of-three Championship Series.
