Men’s Golf to Participate in the Palmetto Intercollegiate

BIRMINGHAM – Coming off its second title of the season, the UAB men's golf team looks to keep that momentum going this Monday and Tuesday, March 11-12, at the Palmetto Intercollegiate in Aiken, S.C.
The Par 70, 6,617-yard course is set for 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. The Blazers finished 4th at last year's Palmetto tournament.
Joining the Blazers in this year's field is Akron, Army, Charleston Southern, Clemson, Francis Marion, Furman, Memphis, Presbyterian, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Temple, USC Aiken, VCU, Virginia, William & Mary, Winthrop and Wofford.
The Blazers are coming off a tournament in which they shot 17-under in the final round of the Loyola Intercollegiate and won the tournament by 13 strokes. Every UAB golfer shot in the 60s during the final 18 holes.
William Walker III led the way with a second-place finish and paced three golfers who finished in the top six of the tournament.
UAB is currently 35-over .500 with a record of 59-24-2 and checks in at No. 72 in this week's golfstat.com rankings. The lineup will remain the same this week as Walker III, Murray Naysmith, John Hayden, Nick Robillard and John Snoddy will field the Blazer roster.
