Tulane Defeats UAB Women’s Tennis 4-1 on Sunday

BIRMINGHAM – Shorthanded due to injuries, the UAB women's tennis team fell to Tulane 4-1 on Sunday afternoon at George Ward Park.
The Blazers (3-7) were only able to field four healthy players and had to win all four singles matches to win the match as Tulane (5-7) won the doubles point.
After winning the first set on court one 6-2, Marlene Herrmann's opponent Elena Muller retired to give UAB its first point of the match, bringing the score to 3-1.
However, Tulane's Daniela La Fuente was able to defeat Megan Bertrands 6-2, 6-3 on court four to end the match as courts two and three were left unfinished.
The Blazers are back in action on Wednesday as they travel to Macon, Ga. to take on Mercer.
