UAB Hosts Mount St. Mary’s in BBN Showcase

BIRMINGHAM – The second of UAB's four games in the BBN Showcase tips off Wednesday night when the Blazers (2-1) host Mount St. Mary's (1-3) at 7 p.m. The game will be streamed live on CUSA.TV and can be heard on WJQX-FM ESPN 100.5 with David Crane and Murry Bartow on the call beginning at 6:30 p.m.. MOUNT ST. MARY'S LATELY
The Mountaineers are 1-3 on the year with a win over Division III Gettysburg and losses to Georgetown, Washington and Lamar. MSM is led by reigning NEC Rookie of the Year Vado Morse (14.8 ppg) and Jalen Gibbs (15.0 ppg). The Mount was picked to finish seventh in the Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches Poll.

COMMON OPPONENTS
The teams share three common opponents in Kentucky, Lamar and Utah Valley.

AGAINST THE NEC
The Blazers have played one team from the Northeast Conference in their history. UAB defeated Saint Francis U 71-68 in the Kauai Classic in Kapa'a, Hawai'i on Dec. 22, 1990. Andy Kennedy scored 27 points and tied a school record by going 11-for-11 from the foul line.

MUSTACHE BASH
Beginning at 6 p.m. UAB will be hosting a Mustache Bash. Special discounted $10 tickets are available for fans that show up to Bartow Arena with facial hair (real or fake). Free pizza and mustaches will be available for students on the concourse.

UP NEXT
UAB hosts Lamar on Nov. 26 with a 7 p.m. tipoff in the third game of the BBN Showcase. The event wraps up in Lexington when UAB travels to Kentucky on Nov. 29.
