BIRMINGHAM – The UAB Department of Athletics has announced that the Blazers' Homecoming game against Old Dominion on Oct. 19 will kick at 3 p.m. CST at Legion Field.
In one of college football's greatest new traditions, the Blazers will once again honor Children's Harbor by wearing the names of patients on the back of their alternate grey and lime jerseys. The jerseys will then be donated to those patients for them to keep.
This is the third year honoring Children's Harbor, and each Homecoming game has come down to the final possession.
Two years ago, UAB defeated Louisiana Tech 23-22 behind a last-second blocked field goal. Last year, the Blazers outscored North Texas 19-0 in the second half for a 29-21 come-from-behind victory.
UAB (4-1, 1-1 C-USA) travels to UTSA (2-3, 1-1 C-USA) this Saturday before returning to Legion Field for Homecoming. The game in San Antonio kicks at 5 p.m. on ESPN+.
