Men’s Golf Set to Participate in Jerry Pate Intercollegiate

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's golf team will participate in the Jerry Pate Intercollegiate this Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 7-8, hosted by the University of Alabama at Old Overton Club.
With a 27-4-0 overall record after its first two tournaments, UAB will be tested in a loaded field which includes: Air Force, Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, BYU, Charlotte, Colorado State, Minnesota, Ole Miss, Princeton, and Samford.
The tournament is set for 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. The course will play 7,204 yards and is a par 72.
"We are excited to play in such a quality field right in our backyard," head coach Mike Wilson said. "We are very familiar with this course and are looking for very low scores from our entire team this week."
Wilson will field a team which consists of senior William Walker III, senior Murray Naysmith, junior Ben Reichert, sophomore John Snoddy and Freshman Khavish Varadan.
This is the third tournament of the season for the Blazers. UAB has finished fourth and second in their first two tournaments.
