Six Blazers Named Easton NFCA All-Academic Scholar Athletes

BIRMINGHAM- Six UAB softball players have been named Easton NFCA All-Academic Scholar Athletes for the 2019 season.
Redshirt senior Analyse Petree, junior Jenna Olszewski, and sophomores Sarah Cespedes, Reece Martin, Sadie Frazier and Sierra Frazier each received the academic honors which celebrates softball student athletes with a GPA of 3.5 or higher for the 2018-19 school year.
"Our program prides ourselves in everything we do," said head coach Jimmy Kolaitis. "From how we act, to how we play, to how we approach our academics. I am proud of our six scholar athletes and how hard they worked in the classroom last year."
Analyse Petree is a redshirt senior who graduated in the spring with her bachelor's degree in sociology. She is currently pursuing her MBA while playing her final season at UAB. Petree is a four-time Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll member and C-USA Academic Medal earner. She has made the UAB Dean's list five semesters and is a two-time earner of UAB Presidential Honors which awards students with a 4.0 GPA.
Junior Jenna Olszewski is an elementary education student with a 3.87 GPA. A transfer from Auburn, Olszewski earned C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll, C-USA Academic Medal, and UAB Dean's list honors in her first year at UAB.
Reece Martin is a sophomore from Portland, Ore. studying kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science. Martin holds a 3.75 GPA and earned 2018-19 C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and UAB Presidential honors for the spring of 2019.
Sophomore pitcher Sarah Cespedes earns NFCA All-Academic Scholar Athlete honors after registering a 4.0 GPA last spring and UAB Presidential honors. Cespedes also earned 2018-19 C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll holding a 3.67 GPA while studying elementary education.
California native Sadie Frazier is a member of the 2018-19 C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and Spring 2019 UAB Dean's List for holding a 3.69 GPA in early childhood education. Her twin sister Sierra Frazier is also a member of the 2018-19 C-USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll as well as 2018-19 C-USA Academic Medal and Spring 2019 UAB Presidential Honor earner. Sierra holds a 3.88 GPA in kinesiology with a focus in P-12 PE education.
