Women’s Soccer Visits Southern Miss on Sunday

BIRMINGHAM – In this midst of a regular season ending road swing, UAB will travel to Southern Miss on Sunday afternoon. The Blazers (4-6-5, 2-4-2) and Golden Eagles (7-9-0, 2-6-0 C-USA) kickoff at the Southern Miss Soccer Complex at 1 p.m.
THE SERIES
The teams have met 21 times with UAB winning 13 with a pair of ties. The Blazers won eight of the first none matchups, including six straight from 2001 to 2006. UAB leads the series in Hattiesburg 6-2-2. Last season, UAB and USM split a pair of matches - the Blazers won in the regular season 2-0 before dropping a 1-0 decision in the quarterfinal round of the C-USA Championship.
UAB LATELY
UAB is coming off a 1-0 setback at WKU on Friday night. The Blazers are 2-3-2 on the road this season and currently sit in 11th place in the C-USA standings. Eve Beyer leads C-USA with a .816 save percentage and is second with a 0.72 GAA.
USM LATELY
Coming off a 5-0 loss against Middle Tennessee on Friday. The Golden Eagles are 4-2-0 at home this year. Currently in 12 place in the C-USA standings. Hailey Pohevitz and Ariel Diaz lead USM with 16 and 15 points respectively.
