Women's Soccer Hosts North Texas on Sunday

BIRMINGHAM – Coming off a 2-1 victory at LA Tech on Friday afternoon, UAB (3-4-4, 1-2-1 C-USA) returns back to BBVA Field to host North Texas (9-3-0, 4-0-0 C-USA) on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
THE SERIES
North Texas leads the all-time series that began in 2013 4-1-0. There have been a pair games played in Birmingham – a 2-1 Blazers win in 2013 and a 1-0 Mean Green win in 2016. Matches played in 2017 and 2018 were played in Denton, Texas with UNT taking both matchups.
UAB LATELY
In her first match back this season, Kamilah Mustafa buried a penalty kick in the 44th minute which would become the game-winning goal in UAB's 2-1 victory over LA Tech on Friday afternoon. The triumph was the first conference win and 200th program victory for UAB.
NORTH TEXAS LATELY
Have been idle since Oct. 6. UNT has not allowed a goal in 390 minutes dating back to Sept. 15. The Mean Green are looking to start 5-0-0 in league play for the first time in program history. UNT leads the league with 18.6 shots per match, eight shutouts and a 0.75 GAA. Berklee Peters is third in C-USA with nine goals and 20 points. Kelsey Brann has leads C-USA with seven shutouts and ranks third with a 0.78 GAA.
PROMOTIONS
It is Youth Soccer Day at BBVA Field. Fans under 18 can wear their youth soccer team shirt or jersey for free admission. There will also be postgame autographs.
UP NEXT
UAB wraps up the home slate when they host Charlotte on Oct. 17 and Old Dominion on Oct. 20. The final three regular season matches are on the road. WKU on Oct. 25, Southern Miss on Oct. 27 and Middle Tennessee on Nov. 1.
