CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The UAB men's soccer team fell 1-0 on Saturday night at No. 20 Charlotte.
UAB drops to 2-6-2 with a 0-3-1 mark in Conference USA play, while Charlotte improves to 5-2-1 and 1-2-0 in league play on the season.
"Playing No. 20 on the road is tough," head coach Mike Getman said. "I thought we were dominant in the first half and should have been up by two. The second half Charlotte took control for about 15 minutes and scored an excellent goal and then just hung on. This was a very disappointing loss."

UAB outshot Charlotte 8-3 in the first half, but the 49ers won the overall battle 14-12. Philip Makinde and Gael Mabiala led the Blazers with three shots each.
In goal, James Teal played the entire 90 minutes and collected three saves.
UAB returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 6 when it continues C-USA play against New Mexico. Kickoff between the Blazers and Lobos is slated for 7 p.m. from BBVA Compass Field.
