UAB Welcomes New Mexico for Bark in the Park Night

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's soccer team returns to BBVA Compass Field on Saturday night when it welcomes New Mexico for Bark in the Park Night. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
UAB (2-6-2, 0-3-1) is coming off a 1-0 loss at No. 20 Charlotte on Saturday, Sept. 29. Prior to the loss, the Blazers were on a three-game unbeaten streak that included a 3-1 win at Lipscomb.
DeAndre Robinson leads the UAB offense with three goals and seven points. The senior was responsible for two goals scored in the win at Lipscomb.
As a team, UAB leads Conference USA in shots, tallying 127 on the season. Blake White ranks 10th in the league in shots with 23, and eighth in shots per game with 2.3.
New Mexico makes the long trip to Birmingham with a 3-8-0 record and a 1-2-0 mark in conference play. The Lobos opened the season with an impressive 4-2 win over No. 22 Seattle and defeated Cal State Fullerton 5-1 on Sept. 2.
Omar Grey leads the team with five goals and 11 points. For the year, New Mexico has racked up 51 points, 17 goals and 17 assists.
UAB and New Mexico are meeting for the seventh time in program history with the Lobos leading 5-1-0 in the series. New Mexico shutout the Blazers 2-0 last season in Albuquerque.
Saturday night is Bark in the Park Night at BBVA Compass Field. Fans that bring their dogs will sign a wavier at the marketing tent and then receive a wristband to allow re-entry for potty breaks. The Greater Birmingham Humane Society will be on hand with adoptable dogs.
Tickets are available to the event at the entrance of BBVA Compass Field and are $5 for adults or $3 for youth 18 and under.
Fans can receive admission into every home men's soccer, women's soccer, women's basketball, volleyball, baseball and softball game for the entire 2018-19 season by purchasing a Gold Card. Contact the UAB Ticket Office, (205) 975-UAB1, for more details.
