UAB Sends Two to the Milwaukee Classic

BIRMINGHAM- After opening the 2018-19 season with a strong showing at the Midland Racquet Club Intercollegiate in Midland, Texas, the UAB women's tennis will have two representatives in action this weekend in Wisconsin for the Milwaukee Classic.
Competing for the Blazers is senior Alexandra Shchipakina and junior Marlene Herrmann. This weekend's tournament will be the first action for both student-athletes.
Last weekend, Dominika Hrabalova and Sophie Dodds each claims victories in singles competitions for UAB, while the Blazers found themselves in some tough battles in doubles play but could not come away with any victories.
Herrmann enters the 2018-19 campaign coming off a stellar sophomore season in which she earned Second Team All-Conference honors after finishing the year with 12-straight wins to post her overall 15-4 record in singles play.
Shchipakina was also strong for UAB, posting six wins in the No. 1 spot, including a 1-1 record in conference play.
