Blazers Travel to Miami to take on FIU

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's soccer team continues its Conference USA slate on Friday night when it heads to South Beach to face FIU. Kickoff between the Blazers and Panthers is slated for 6 p.m. CST.
UAB (1-4-0, 0-1-0) is coming off of a three-game homestand that included the 'Soccer for a Cure' Classic and its C-USA opener against (RV) Kentucky.
Eder Mora is one of the four team leaders in goals as his penalty kick against Santa Clara on Aug. 26 found the back of the net to lift UAB to its first victory of the season. Louis-Etienne Nzonza, Aidan O'Hara and Gael Mabiala have also scored a goal for the Green and Gold.
FIU's (1-4-0, 1-0-0) lone win of the season came in its league opener last Friday night when it defeated Marshall 2-1 in overtime.
Santiago Patino leads the Panthers in points as the forward has netted four goals and has an assist under his belt, Hugo Fauroux has logged every minute in goal for the Panthers, recording 15 saves to go along with a .536 save percentage.
UAB and FIU are meeting for the 17th time in program history, with the Panthers holding the slight 8-7-1 advantage. FIU took the last meeting with a 2-1 win in Birmingham last season.
