Blazers Return Home to Host Tulane on Saturday

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB football team looks to tie the school record with its eighth-consecutive home win this Saturday as the Blazers host Tulane University at Legion Field. Kickoff is set for noon on Watch Stadium/Facebook.
Since its return to the field, UAB is a perfect 7-0 in Birmingham, and a win would not only tie the school record but it would also even the all-time series with Tulane at five games apiece.

STORYLINES:
- During UAB's current home winning streak, the Blazers are averaging 35.4 points per game and have won those games by an average of 20.7 points.
- There has been no shortage of points when the Blazers and the Green Wave meet on the gridiron. Along with the 100 combined points scored last time the two teams met, the 55-49 Tulane victory in 2004 still holds the record for most combined points scored in UAB history.
- UAB is Conference USA's No. 1 rushing offense and ranks 18th nationally in that category. Led by Spencer Brown, the Blazers have had no less than 285 rushing yards in each of their first two games and are averaging 285.5 yards per game.
- Brown leads the team in rushing with 98.0 yards per game, while Kingston Davis has had a rushing touchdown in each of his first two games and has spearheaded a rushing attack that leads C-USA with seven rushing touchdowns. Six different UAB players have scored a rushing touchdown this season.
- Defensively, UAB ranks seventh nationally in passing yards allowed per game at 95.0. UAB has not allowed more than 170 yards passing in either of their first two games, and will be tested by a potent Tulane receiving duo in Darnell Mooney and Terren Encalade.
- Mooney and Encalade have combined for 24 of Tulane's 30 receptions this season, while dual threat quarterback Jonathan Banks has thrown for 471 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Green Wave's first two games, while adding a rushing score as well.
- Along with continually honoring Mike Slive and the Mike Slive Foundation, UAB Athletics will participate in Extra Yard for Teachers, in conjunction with the College Football Playoff Foundation this Saturday.
