BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – UAB head softball coach Jimmy Kolaitis announced the addition of Dylinn Stancil to the softball program on Tuesday.
Stancil is transferring from Ole Miss where she appeared in 86 games over two seasons, recording 69 starts at second and third base. She will be able to play immediately this coming season.
"Dylinn comes to us from Ole Miss, where she has a lot of experience playing in big games," Kolaitis said. "She is a solid defender who has the chance to really swing the bat for us."
The Temecula, Calif. native hit .235 in 179 at-bats for Ole Miss, including a .256 batting average her freshman season. She drove in 29 RBI, scored 26 runs while collecting 10 doubles the past two years in Oxford, Miss.
The infielder played a major role in helping Ole Miss win the 2017 SEC Tournament Championship when she drove in the Rebels' only two runs in a 2-0 win against No. 1 Florida in the tournament quarterfinals.
Prior to Ole Miss, Stancil lettered four years at Great Oak High School in Temecula, Calif. and was named First Team All-League (2015 and 2016), Second Team All-League in 2013 and 2014. She was also named Offensive MVP twice in 2015 and 2016 and earned defensive MVP honors in 2014.
Stancil helped lead the Wolfpack to the Escondido Cougar Classic in 2013, Southwestern League in 2013 and 2016 and hit .468 as a senior with a .523 on-base percentage and .663 slugging percentage.
