Blazers Welcome No. 11 Southern Miss

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB baseball team faces its toughest task of the season this weekend when it welcomes No. 11 Southern Miss to Young Memorial Field for a three-game series. Game one is slated for Friday at 6:30 p.m., game two is on Saturday at 2 p.m. and the series finale is set for Sunday at a 1 p.m.
Quick Hitters
- UAB is coming off of a 7-5 loss at cross-town rival Samford on Tuesday night. In the last weekend of league play, the Blazers took two-of-three at No. 22 Florida Atlantic, marking the first series win on the road against a ranked opponent in program history.
- Ryan Ruggles, the projected Saturday starter, is the reigning Conference USA Pitcher of the Week after throwing a season-high eight innings with a career-best 10 strikeouts.
