Edgard Gamboa Signs Letter of Intent

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – UAB men's soccer head coach Mike Getman has added more depth to his roster with the signing of Edgard Gamboa to the 2018 class.
Gamboa is a 5'8, 145 pound center midfielder hailing from Houston, where he played for the Houstonian Futbol Club under former Blazer Jose Rayo. Gamboa helped the club win multiple South Texas championships and this season he already has five goals and eight assists in 18 games.
He played his high school career at Alief Taylor, where he was a four-year starter for coach David Walters. While at Alief Taylor, Gamboa was tabbed All-District two times and was a two-time team MVP.
Getman on Gamboa:
"Edgard brings pace, skill and versatility to our team. He is a great player who works incredibly hard. I expect him to help us right away."
The Blazers kick off their 2018 season with an exhibition match at Clemson on August 14. The regular season begins August 24 at Pacific.
