Blazers Looking for Season Sweep of Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB baseball team embarks upon its longest road trip of the season this week when it heads to Tuscaloosa to face the Crimson Tide. First pitch is scheduled for Tuesday at 6 p.m. from Sewell-Thomas Baseball Stadium.
Quick Hitters
- UAB (14-16, 6-6 C-USA) is coming off of a weekend in which it went 1-2 against FIU. The Blazers took game one 2-1, but fell in Sunday's double-header 6-4 and 3-0, respectively.
- Tyler Tolbert leads Conference USA and is 14th in the NCAA in steals with 17. The sophomore needs six more bases to crack UAB's single-season top-10 list.
- Tanner Graham got his second win of the season Friday against FIU going 7.0 innings while allowing only one run on five hits with six strikeouts. The junior ranks sixth in the league in ERA boasting a 2.08 mark.
- The Blazer pitching staff as a whole has been strong this season and the team ERA of 3.53 ranks third in C-USA.
- Carter Pharis hit his second home run of the season on Friday. The junior leads the team in home runs, total bases (40) and RBI (18).
- Brett Blackwood has been on an offensive tear as of late. The junior leads the team in batting average hitting .319 with a .355 mark in league play.
- In conference play this season, Colton Schultz leads the team hitting .410 with 16 hits, 10 runs scored and 20 total bases.

- Alabama (20-13, 5-7 SEC) is coming off of going 2-1 at Missouri over the weekend. The Crimson Tide took the first and last game of the series winning 2-1 and 5-1, repectively.
- The Crimson Tide pitching staff ranks 11th in the country with a 2.87 team ERA. Additionally, they rank 16th in nation in shutouts with four.
- Chandler Taylor and Chandler Avant lead the Alabama lineup at the plate as Taylor currently ranks 15th in the NCAA with ten home runs and Avant leads the team with 29 RBI.
