UAB Travels to No. 22 Florida Atlantic

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After five days off, the UAB baseball team returns to action with a three-game series at No. 22 Florida Atlantic this weekend. The two teams begin the series on Friday at 5:30 p.m. CT, game two is slated for Saturday at 3 p.m. CT with the series finale set for Sunday at 10 a.m. CT.

- UAB (17-21, 9-9) is coming off of a 1-2 series loss to WKU last weekend. The Blazers turned in their fourth shutout of the season in game two, but the Hilltoppers took game one and three.
- The Blazers have been successful on the road in league play this season taking all of their series 2-1. Additionally, UAB is outscoring opponents 43-33 in conference games away from Birmingham.
- Carter Pharis is hitting .299 with a team-best four home runs and 20 RBI to go along with 60 total bases, a .455 slugging percentage and is a perfect 9-for-9 on stolen base attempts this season.
- Matthew Calvert has been the person to call on out of the bullpen as of late as the junior enters the weekend riding a 10-inning scoreless streak.
- Tyler Tolbert has been a force on the base paths ranking first in the league in stolen bases (19) and attempts (24).

- No. 22 Florida Atlantic (29-10-1, 13-4-1) sits atop the standings in C-USA but is coming off of a 4-2 loss to Florida Gulf Coast on Wednesday.
- David Miranda leads a strong Owl offense, hitting .336 with 26 RBI and 11 doubles to go along with a .440 on-base percentage.
- On the mound Florida Atlantic is led by Vince Coletti and Jake Miednik. Coletti ranks 12th in the league in ERA with a 3.25 mark over 55.1 innings of work, while Miednik carries a 3.32 ERA with 10 wins and 71 strikeouts over 59.2 innings pitched.
