Blazers Return Home to Face WKU

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After five games on the road, the UAB baseball team returns to Regions Field to host WKU. The Blazers and Hilltoppers will square off in game one on Friday at 6:30 p.m., with game two at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The series finale is slated for Sunday at 1 p.m.
Quick Hitters
- UAB (16-19, 8-7 C-USA) is coming off of a 12-2 loss at No. 21 Auburn on Tuesday night. Matthew Calvert pitched a season-high 4.0 hitless innings in relief while collecting five strikeouts.
- Carter Pharis has been on an offensive tear in his last 10 games. The junior is hitting .406 with 13 hits, two doubles, a triple and a home run during the stretch.
- The Blazers have been a hard out once on the base path as they lead the league in stolen bases (46) and attempts (58). Additionally, Tyler Tolbert ranks first in the conference in stolen bases (18) and attempts (22) and needs just five more swipes to crack UAB's top-10 in a single season.
- Tanner Graham is carrying a 1.70 ERA with a 3-1 record in league play. The Blazers' Friday night strater is coming off of his first career complete game at Old Dominion where he struck out four batters and issued just two walks.

- Steven Kraft leads the offense hitting .363 with 20 runs scored on 37 hits and 22 RBI.
- The Hilltoppers are slated to throw right-handed pitcher Ryan Thurston on Friday night. Thurston carries a 3.15 ERA with a 3-4 record over 54.1 appearances in 10 games.
