Blazers Close Road Trip at Auburn

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB baseball team wraps up its five-game road stint on Tuesday night with a trip to The Plains to face Auburn. First pitch between the Blazers and Tigers is slated for 6 p.m. from Plainsman Park.
Quick Hitters
- UAB (16-18, 8-7 C-USA) is coming off a 2-1 series win at Old Dominion over the weekend. Cole Collins hit a go ahead two RBI single in the top of the ninth in the series finale to secure the win and claim the series for the Blazers.
- Tyler Tolbert has been a force on the base paths this year, ranking first in Conference USA in stolen bases and stolen base attempts with 18 and 21, respectively.
- Brett Blackwood muscled two home runs in game one at Old Dominion for his first career multi-home run game. The redshirt junior leads the team in batting average (.333), slugging percentage (.531) and home runs (4).
- Isaiah Gonzales-Montoya is slated to get the start on the mound at Auburn. The senior started the first game between the two squads, lasting two innings and allowing two runs on one hit with three walks and two strikeouts.
- UAB volunteer assistant coach Ron Polk will see some familiar faces between the two dugouts as UAB's Brian Shoop and Auburn's Butch Thompson and Steve Smith served as assistant coaches under Polk while he was at Mississippi State.

- Auburn (25-12, 6-9 SEC) went 2-1 over the weekend winning, game one and scoring seven runs on five hits in the sixth inning on Sunday to take game three 7-5.
- The long ball has sparked Auburn's offense as the Tigers have five different players with six or more home runs.
- Casey Mize is proving to be one of the most dominant arms in the country. The senior is coming off of his second complete game of the season against Mississippi State on Friday where he struck out nine or more batters for the sixth time this season.
