Track Side with Head Coach Kurt Thomas
"We had a very good day today. All around, the jumpers, sprinters and the distance girls ran well," Thomas said. "Brittany had a good opening heptathlon as a freshman and the exciting part is she is only going to get stronger. Ali was solid as usual and is in good shape going into the conference meet. Mo and Keila had great triple jumps, set huge PRs and put themselves in contention for the C-USA Championships. Shelbi had good 100-meter and 200-meter races and Taylor ran great in setting a PR in the 200. Those are all top-10 Conference USA times, which is very promising. Lauren ran the 400-meter hurdles for the first time in her life and showed she can score at conference as well. Cele has a good 800-meter run and is starting to race well. Ebony, Marielle, Abigail and Kyla Horn all had PRs in their events. We can't ask much more from these ladies. It was a fun day. We need to go back to work and get ready for next week."
