BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB baseball team is set to play its first home Conference USA series this weekend when it welcomes LA Tech to Regions Field for a three-game set. The Blazers and Diamond Dogs will play game one on Friday at 6:30 p.m., game two on Saturday at 2 p.m. with the series finale set for Sunday at 1 p.m.

- UAB (9-10, 2-1) is coming off of a thrilling Tuesday night win over Alabama. The Blazers recorded a season high 13 hits en route to the 6-4 victory
- Brett Blackwood provided the power in Tuesday night's win with a three-run first inning home run. The redshirt junior leads the team in batting average (.289), home runs and slugging percentage (.395)
- Tyler Tolbert opened C-USA play on a tear hitting .417 with five hits, two RBI, five total bases and a .462 on-base percentage through the first three league games

- LA Tech (17-6, 3-0) comes to Birmingham as one of the hottest teams in the country collecting wins in 12 of its last 14 games including a three-game sweep of Rice last weekend
- Reigning C-USA Hitter of the Week leads the Diamond Dogs offense hitting .368 with 35 hits, 55 total bases, a .579 slugging percentage and a .425 on-base percentage
- On the mound LA Tech boasts the second lowest ERA in the country and has seen its starting pitcher reach the sixth inning in 20 of 23 games
