UAB Welcomes Troy to Wrap Up Homestand

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB baseball team welcomes Troy to Regions Field on Tuesday night to close its eight-game homestand. First pitch between the Blazers and Trojans is slated for 6:30 p.m.

- UAB (6-8) went 1-2 over the weekend against Milwaukee. The Blazers dropped the first and third games of the series, but won the second 10-0 for their second shutout of the season
- The Blazers' defense has been solid this season, turning 17 double plays, the 10th most by a team in the NCAA
- Sophomore Tyler Tolbert is proving to be one the fastest players in the nation this season as his nine stolen bases is the 17th most in the country

Scouting Troy
Troy (11-5) is coming off of a three-game sweep of Gardner-Webb over the weekend with a combined shutout on Saturday.
Matt Sanders leads the Trojan offense hitting .413 with 26 runs on 26 hits and four home runs. He ranks third nationally in runs and runs per game (1.6) and 14th in total bases (47).
Joey Denison has also been a stronghold in the lineup as he ranks seventh in the NCAA in RBI (25) and 25th in doubles (7).
Right handed pitcher Sadler Goodwin (0-1) will get the start on the mound for the Trojans. In four appearances this season, Sadler has given up seven runs on seven hits with just four strikeouts and holds a 9.95 ERA.
