Blazers to Host Arkansas Monticello at 1 p.m. on Saturday

BIRMINGHAM – Playing its final non-conference game of the regular season, the UAB men's basketball team hosts the University of Arkansas Monticello at 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at Bartow Arena.

UAB (7-5) looks to rebound after suffering its first home loss of the season which came in a 1-point defeat to Troy last Friday. The Blazers are 5-1 at home this season and 47-9 dating back to the start of the 2015-16 season inside Bartow Arena.
The Blazers had three players in double figures against the Trojans, led by Zack Bryant who had 18 points and has now been in double figures each of the last four games. Lewis Sullivan notched his team-high ninth game scoring double digits and did so with all of his 15 points coming in the second half after sustaining early foul trouble.
Senior guard Jeremiah Bell has also helped in the scoring column after tallying 13 against Troy. He now has seven double figure scoring games this season and three of which have come in the last four games.
UAB has out-rebounding 10 of its 12 opponents this season and is 7-3 overall when doing so. The Blazers continue to lead Conference USA in rebounding margin and at +7.1, good for 29th nationally.
Members of Division II, Arkansas Monticello plays out of the Great American Conference. The Boll Weevils are off to a 7-3 start and are 49-22 since the 2016-17 season, which includes winning their conference that season with a 23-7 overall record.
