Men’s Golf Remains in Birmingham for the Jerry Pate Intercollegiate

BIRMINGHAM – Playing in Birmingham for its second straight tournament, the UAB men's golf team is set to participate in the Jerry Pate Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Alabama at Old Overton.
The tournament is scheduled for 36 holes on Monday, Oct. 8, and will conclude with the final 18 holes on Tuesday, Oct. 9.
Along with the Blazers and the Crimson Tide, the field consists of: Air Force, Arkansas, Army, Auburn, BYU, Charlotte, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Samford and UNLV. UAB will be paired with Charlotte and BYU for the first two rounds on Monday.
"Playing on a familiar course provides us an opportunity to have some very low scores this week," head coach Mike Wilson said. "The quality of this field will elevate our play and I am looking for some great performances from our guys."
UAB's lineup for The Pate will feature William Walker III, John Hayden, Nick Robillard, Sam Goldasich and John Snoddy. Robillard paced the Blazers at Shoal Creek with a 33rd place overall finish.
The Blazers most recently hosted the Shoal Creek Invitational two weeks ago in which they finished ninth overall in a field of 14 teams, 10 of which ranked inside the top 100.
