Men’s Golf Heads into Final Round of Jerry Pate in Eighth Place

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's golf team will look to move up the leaderboard in the final round of Jerry Pate Intercollegiate after finishing Monday's first two rounds in eighth place at Old Overton Golf Club.
The Blazers had an excellent first round and found themselves in fifth place at +3 overall, but were hindered by a +18 in the second round which dropped them three spots to eighth place overall at +21.
John Hayden is currently tied for 16th overall to lead the Blazers at two-over par. Hayden had UAB's low round of the day by firing a three-under 67 during his opening round.
William Walker III and John Snoddy are both tied for 34th overall at +6. Walker III was two-over in his first round and four-over in his second round. Snoddy joined Hayden under par in the first round with a one-under 69, put was seven-over in the second round and finished his 36 holes at six-over.
Nick Robillard (75-75 = 150) and Sam Goldasich (76-74 = 150) are both ten-over and tied for 47th place overall.
BYU (-7) is leading the tournament, followed by Alabama (-6), Arkansas (-5), Auburn (+2) and Charlotte (+3). Individually, Arkansas' Julian Perico has a four-stroke lead heading into Tuesday at -11.
