UAB Closes Out the Fall Season at the Tera Ross Memorial Tournament

BIRMINGHAM – First-year head coach Jimmy Kolaitis and the UAB softball team closes out its fall season this weekend at the Tera Ross Memorial Tournament. The Blazers will play three games on Saturday, October 6 at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Ala.
The day gets started at 9 a.m. as UAB takes on Gulf Coast Community College. The Blazers' 10:45 a.m. matchup features the Green and Gold against Wallace-Dothan and first pitch in UAB's final game of the day is slated for 2:15 p.m. against Snead State.
"We want to see them play with attitude and effort," Kolaitis said. "I want to see us compete. They have been working hard and they're getting better every day, our staff has thrown a lot of information at them and it takes time for it all to process. We're learning that there is a game within the game."
The tournament is named in the memory of former Jacksonville State pitcher Tera Ross, a three-time letterwinner that was killed in an automobile accident just before her senior season.
UAB won't play any more games this fall but will continue with practice through November 24. The Blazers open the 2019 season on February 7 at home against North Alabama before hosting the Blazer Classic February 8-10.
