UAB Men’s Golf Concludes Fall Action in Hawaii

PRINCEVILLE, Kauai – Coming off its first tournament victory in three years, the UAB men's golf team looks to carry that momentum into its final fall competition at the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational hosted by the University of Hawaii.
The last time UAB was on the links, the Blazers won the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate hosted by Louisiana Tech and defeated then No. 10 Georgia en route to victory. William Walker III won the individual title and for his efforts, was named the Conference USA Golfer of the Week.
The tournament in Hawaii is set for Oct. 28-30 and the Blazers are one of 20 teams participating. The field also includes: Army, Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Denver, East Tennessee State, Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana, Louisville, Loyola Marymount, McNeese State, Missouri, Ole Miss, Pepperdine, Purdue, Sam Houston State, San Diego, UMKC and Utah Valley.
UAB will stick with the lineup that was victorious two weeks ago. Along with Walker III, the Blazers will field John Hayden, Nick Robillard, Sam Goldasich and John Snoddy. Hayden finished in third place two weeks ago and has placed inside the top 20 in three of four tournaments this season.
Action at Princeville Makai Golf Club will begin on Sunday morning at 8 a.m. local time (12 p.m. CST) and the field with play 18 holes each on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The course is a par 72 that will play 7,223 yards.
The Blazers enter the tournament ranked No. 69 nationally and are one of eight teams ranked inside the top-100, along with No. 11 Pepperdine, No. 15 Louisville, No. 37 Ole Miss, No. 44 Purdue, No. 76 East Tennessee and No. 81 Missouri.
