UAB Heads To Indiana

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Blazer volleyball heads to Evansville, Ind. this weekend for the Dunn Hospitality Invitational, set for Sept. 8-9.

UAB (3-5) will face UT Martin (2-5), host school Evansville (5-1) and Indiana (6-0) over the weekend. The Blazers play UT Martin on Friday at 4:30 p.m. CT. UAB faces off with Evansville on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. CT and wraps up the tournament against the Hoosiers at 4 p.m. CT Saturday.

UAB is coming off a 3-2 week with wins over Georgia State, Charleston Southern and Western Illinois.

Senior Haley Jared has been dominate all over the floor this season recording five double-doubles including four straight over the past weekend. Jared ranks first in Conference USA in kills with 103 followed closely by teammate Gabby Deshotel with 99.

Sophomore Kenley Adams is second in the conference with 312 assists this season.

As a team UAB is top five in hitting percentage (.242), opponent hitting percentage (.189), kills per set (13.62) and third in blocks per set (2.53). The Blazers are sixth in assists per set (12.52) and service aces per set (1.10).

The Blazers will return home for the Fight Like Hal Memorial Tournament on Sept. 15-16.
