UAB Men’s Soccer Begins 2017 Practice

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB men's soccer team began its 2017 season with a two-hour workout Wednesday morning at BBVA Compass Field.
"I thought it was a really good first day," head coach Mike Getman said. "We started with a fitness test which the guys worked incredibly hard and did very well which is always a good sign. Then the training itself I thought was excellent. We have a lot of incredibly talented players and it was a great way to start the season."
The Blazers used the first hour for a fitness test followed by one hour of training. UAB will hit the practice field again tonight at 7 p.m. to wrap up day one.
UAB is prepping to host No. 5 Clemson in its first exhibition match on Saturday August 12 at BBVA Compass Field. The Blazers and Tigers are set to battle it out beginning at 6 p.m.
