Women's Tennis Signs Sonia Grzywocz

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB women's tennis coach Mark Tjia announced Tuesday that Sonia Grzywocz has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Blazers next season.
Grzywocz is the fourth international player to join UAB, as Megan Bertrands, Jana Hecking and Alexandra Shchipakina inked with the Blazers last month.
"We feel very fortunate to add Sonia to our team, and we are looking forward, as I know she is, to her arrival on campus in August," Tjia said. "She will bring with her a lot of international competitive experience, particularly in doubles, where she has already had success in the professional ranks by getting to a final of a Futures event in December.
"She has recorded wins over players in doubles with WTA rankings in the top 300 in the world. I know she is anxious to improve her singles to a similar level and we are looking forward to helping her do that."
