NOTES:
- Looking to make history at Florida, a victory for the Blazers would establish a new program record for FBS wins in a season with eight. UAB enters the contest on a three-game winning streak and has won five of its last six contests.
- A win would also give the Blazers their first victory over the Gators. This is the third time the two schools have met with the previous two games coming in 2002 and 2011. UAB has defeated two SEC teams in school history with a 13-10 victory at LSU in 2000 and a 27-13 victory at Mississippi State in 2004.
- UAB needs two more rushing touchdowns to establish a record for rushing touchdowns in a season. The Blazers currently have 26 scores on the ground (second in C-USA) and can pass the 2014 UAB team that had 27. UAB has scored at least two rushing touchdowns in every game this season, led by quarterback A.J. Erdely (12) and running back Spencer Brown (10).
- Erdely broke the single season record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback last week with two scores at UTSA, passing Joe Webb who accumulated 11 rushing TDs in both 2008 and 2009. Erdely now has his sights set on the overall single season record of 13 which is shared by Jordan Howard and Darrin Reaves.
- Freshman All-American candidate Spencer Brown was recently added as a candidate for the Doak Walker Award, annually presented to college football's best running back. Brown is the nation's second leading rusher among freshmen with 1,177 yards and ranks 15th overall in rushing yards.
- Brown is re-writing the UAB record books and currently ranks third on UAB's single season rushing list. With three games remaining, Brown is 410 yards shy of Jordan Howard's single season record of 1,587 yards. Brown has gone over 100 yards in three straight games and five of his last six. He has six 100-yard rushing games this season.
- The UAB defense is coming off a dominating performance at UTSA with 10 TFL, three sacks and three takeaways. The Blazers rank 23rd nationally in tackles for loss at 7.2 per game (72 overall for a loss of 231 yards).
- The Blazers are +6 in turnover margin which ranks them 21st in the nation and have 12 interceptions this year compared to throwing just three. Of those 12 interceptions, eight have come in the last five games and the UAB defense has had at least one INT in each of those five contests.
- Florida is currently enduring a five-game losing streak, but returns to The Swamp after three games away from Gainesville (two road, one neutral). It is Florida's Salute to Service game and among the many pregame festivities includes a Coast Guard flyover at the end of the National Anthem.
The Blazers return home to conclude the regular season next weekend, Nov. 25 against UTEP. It will be Senior Day as UAB honors its seniors that will go down in history as the most influential class in program history.
