UAB Softball Hosts Annual Blazer Bash

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Head coach Marla Townsend and the UAB softball team will host its annual Blazer Bash September 16-17 to kickoff another year of UAB softball.
The weekend’s events begin with the Meet the Team Banquet on Friday, Sept. 16, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. The dinner will be located inside the Hill Center in the ballroom on the third floor. Price for the banquet is $25 per person, which includes dinner and a t-shirt.
Saturday, Sept. 17 features the annual Green and Gold Alumni Game showcasing the 2016-17 team against former Blazers. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Mary Bowers Field.
Following the alumni game, a cookout and meet and greet will take place behind Mary Bowers Field.

The Blazers are coming off a second place finish in the Conference USA Tournament in a season where they faced 10 NCAA tournament opponents. UAB was led by Caitlin Attfield who was the first Blazer to ever be drafted in the National Pro Fastpitch league. She was selected ninth overall by the Dallas Charge.
