JoJo Fallen Named to C-USA All-Academic Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – UAB softball’s junior outfielder JoJo Fallen was named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team, as announced by the league office Tuesday.
The Prattville, Alabama, native has maintained one of the top GPAs on the squad with a 3.60 mark in civil engineering. The honor is the second of Fallen’s career, as she earned All-Academic honors last season.
The junior was named to the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the third consecutive season and earned the C-USA Academic Medal her freshman season.
The outfielder has compiled a breakout junior campaign. She ranks second on the Blazer squad in batting average (.337), slugging percentage (.491), runs scored (29), hits (55) and RBIs (27) and leads the team in doubles (12), tied for the seventh-most in the league.
The junior also leads the league and ranks tied for fifth in the conference with 11 sacrifice bunts and ranks 73rd in the nation for sacrifice hits per game (0.20).
This summer, Fallen will be interning with Southern Nuclear after receiving a high competitive internship position with the company.
UAB opens the 2016 Conference USA Championship during Thursday’s quarterfinals. The Blazers play the winner of game four at 4:30 p.m. CT in Denton, Texas.
