UAB Softball Adds Dixon to Signing Class

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB softball program and head coach Marla Townsend announced the addition of Elli Dixon to the Blazer signing class on Tuesday.
Dixon is the seventh member of the Blazers’ talented 2015-16 signing class that will step on campus this fall.
“I have had the pleasure of seeing Elli grow and develop into an outstanding young lady and a very talented softball player,” said Townsend. “Her work ethic and determination guarantee her a successful career and education at UAB. Her family values are a perfect match for our program.”
A member of the varsity squad coached by Stephanie Barlow, Dixon joins the Blazers from Cullman High School in Cullman, Ala., where she earned All-Area honors in 2015.
Dixon is also a member of the Birmingham Mustangs 98’ travel team coached by Jeff McKee.
Active in student organizations on Cullman’s campus, Dixon serves as the senior class vice president and is a member of the National Honor Society, German National Honor Society and Key Club. Dixon was also a member of the senior homecoming court.
Excelling in the classroom, Dixon earned gold and silver academic awards throughout high school.
Dixon is the daughter of Edwin and LaQuita Dixon. Her intended major is early childhood education.
