Softball Announces Fall Schedule

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB softball team has announced its 2015 fall schedule. The Blazers will host four home series, starting with a doubleheader against Southern Union on Friday, Sept. 25.
UAB will host Southern Union on Sept. 25 in a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. at the UAB Softball Field.
The Blazers’ fall slate continues on Tuesday, Sept. 29 when UAB hosts Wallace State in doubleheader action. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. Wallace State claimed its ninth Alabama Community College Conference championship last season, posting a 23-1 record in conference play and a 62-14 mark overall.
The Blazers will close out the week of play on Thursday, Oct. 1 when UAB hosts Miles College for a 4 p.m. game.
UAB wraps up its fall schedule the next week with its final home stand. The Blazers will battle Snead at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8 at the UAB Softball Field. UAB then travels to Oxford, Ala. to compete in Jacksonville State’s Tera Ross Memorial Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 10.
The one-day tournament is held at the Oxford Lakes Softball Complex. Information on opponents and dates will be posted once made available.
The Blazers are coming off their sixth consecutive 30- win season, with 15 or more conference wins. The Blazers shattered four team records and recorded the longest win streak in program history in 2015. Senior shortstop Caitlin Attfield also became the first player in program history to be named C-USA Player of the Year.
