BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- UAB women's tennis player Catherine Ragon is one of 14 recipients of the Conference USA Spring 2015 Spirit of Service Award, the league office announced on Wednesday.
The rising junior has become a constant presence in Birmingham during her time with the Blazers. Ragon competed in all 20 matches this past season as the Blazers secured their most conference wins since 2008.
The Mandeville, La., native racked up 53 hours of community service this past year, including time at the Children's Hospital, clean-up at Camp Fletcher and assisting at the Lakeshore Foundation.  Her remaining time was spent on her studies as she holds a perfect 4.00 GPA as an exercise science major.
Recently, Ragon was named the NCAA Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative for Conference USA.
