BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- Sophie Dodds has signed a National Letter of Intent with the UAB women's tennis team, head coach Mark Tjia announced on Monday.
Dodds, who is currently the 54th ranked women's player in Great Britain, will be an incoming freshman for Tjia and the Blazers beginning with the 2015-16 season.
"We are really excited that Sophie has decided to become a Blazer," Tjia said. "She brings a lot of enthusiasm and athleticism to our roster as we close out our recruiting class for the fall. I cannot wait to get to work with the girls, both returning and new."
A native of Harrogate, North Yorkshire, Dodds had a British rating of 3.2 during her career and boasts a number of wins against players currently playing college tennis.
